Network Marketing - It's About Building an Asset
"If Network Marketing is such a great business opportunity to become rich then why do only select few make it to the top ladder? Is the top open to lucky few?"
It is a Billion Rupee question in minds of lots of Networkers.
When we look at a typical corporate set up we find that only one person can be at the top head of a company. But in Network Marketing this is not the case. As many people can be at the same level, which is at the top of any Network Marketing System.
Then why don’t people reach the top? What is stopping them from becoming a number one in their organization?
The only reason that I can think of is that they give up too soon and quit.
Now, why do they quit?
It is not that they want to quit. It is just that they joined the Network Marketing business for the wrong reason.
Network Marketing has always been promoted as a business where you can earn quick money working part time. Anyone joining the business of networking does so just for the sake of money. His focus is on the money and not on building his or her network marketing business.
These people always think that money will arrive at their home from thin air and when it does not come as they had imagined it would they start getting skeptical about the whole network marketing business. They stop talking about their business; they stop learning about the business.
In short they stop taking their business sincerely. In fact most of them don’t know how this network marketing business works.
The end result is as quickly as they came in they disappear from the world of network marketing and go back to their comfort zone of job bad mouthing the business of network marketing.
Network Marketing is not about doing another job; it is all about building an asset. When you build an asset money will automatically follow.
What most people miss out on is:
‘If you work hard on your job you will make a living. If you work hard on yourself you will make a fortune.’
Everybody wants a fortune but know body wants to work on themselves because it is comfortable to work on a job than on them selves.
Why do people go back to their comfort zone?
The only reason is:
It is easy to live in a matchbox size house; but it is difficult to work hard and buy a two room hall kitchen flat.
It is easy to adjust your life on a motorcycle; but it is difficult to buy a four wheeler.
It is easy to live a life of compromise; it is difficult to confront your mediocre life and create a life of wants!
People who live a compromised life chose all the easy ways of life.
What kind of life are you living?

To Be Big You Have To Think Big!
SUB: To Be Big You Have To Think Big!
Your brand new Mercedes will depreciate the moment you drive out of the showroom.
Your latest mobile gizmo will depreciate in value the moment you pay for it.
All materialistic things lose in value at one point of time or the other; but the only thing that is not made to depreciate is human brain.
We human beings have conditioned ourselves not to use our brains effectively as a result it keeps on depreciating year after year thereby bringing down the quality of life that we live.
By falling victim to self depreciation, knowingly or unknowingly we are committing a crime and when the court of life announces its judgment we start pitying ourselves and announce to the entire world, ‘Life is not fair to me...’
How can life be fair to you when instead of developing and concentrating on your inner assets you are busy accumulating external liabilities that you think are assets and which keeps on depreciating day by day?
I would like to share a story that I read sometime ago:
‘A man was walking down a street and was stopped by a beggar. The beggar asked him if he could spare some change. When he looked at the beggar, he found that the beggar was sitting on a peculiar type of box. The man asked the beggar what it was and the beggar replied he didn’t know. He has been sitting on it ever since he found it. He had not even bothered to look into it. The man inspires him to look into it. The beggar is more interested in the man giving him money rather than looking into an old box. But when the man insists the beggar reluctantly opens the box only to be surprised that all this long he has been sitting on a box filled with gold. The beggar had taken the box for granted and thought that the only use it could be of was to sit on it.’
We as humans too have taken our brains for granted and only make use of it to ask for more materialistic things; in doing so we miss out on the goldmine that it has in store for us.
So the million dollar question arises is how do we tap into this vast goldmine of ours?
The answer is Simple but not Easy -
To rise above the life of mediocrity you have to think big!
If You Have To Be BIG; If You Have To Grow BIG then there is only ONE Option: THINK BIG!
Now, How do we think Big?
Here are some of the GOLDEN RULES I have researched and come across. I too am religiously following these GOLDEN RULES of THINKING BIG.
Here they are:
1. You are better than you think you are. So don’t sell yourself short of anything. Even though there are people out there who are better than you, but ‘You Are The Best.’ Always Remember That!
2. See the Future, don’t get stuck in the present. It is always ‘what can be’ rather than ‘what is’.
3. Change the words you use in your communication and see the impact it has on your prospects. Instead of using ordinary words use bright and powerful words that instigates an emotion in the listener. Look for effective synonyms of the words you often use and replace them with the synonyms.
4. Your Success depends not on changing your job or your Network Marketing Company or your product; it depends on how you view your job. What is your attitude towards your present job.
5. Get out of Stuff Activities and concentrate on jobs that are really, really important for your success. Before taking up any activity stop and ask yourself, ‘Where will this activity of mine take me on my success graph?’ If it helps you in scaling your growth go ahead with it or else reject it. I remember a line from the book, ‘Good to Great’ by Jim Collins. The book starts with the line, ‘Good is the enemy of Great’.
So, Question and Reject Good things to Achieve Great Things in Life!

The Attitude of adding Value
SUB: The Attitude of adding Value
Adding Value in whatever you do or sell is an attitude. Nobody will ever ask you to add value to the products you are selling through Network Marketing, but when you offer value addition along with your product people will notice and appreciate. Over and above all they will choose you to buy the products you are selling.
Remember, every product is a commodity. It is you, the Networker who makes it Unique by the value you add to the product.
Most of you must be asking how can I add value to what already is there. It is the company’s job to add value and create great products; I am just there to sell. If your thought process is running on this path then let me warn you, you have just commoditized yourself. You have become just like any other Networker out there in the world trying hard to sell his products.
When I started selling I too sold my products like a commodity and when people did not buy I became depressed, frustrated and angry. I did not understand why people did not buy from me even though the product I was offering was good! They were always raising objections. When I shared this with my seniors they told me to list down all the objections given by my prospects and also all the objections that I thought the prospects will give me in future. Then I was told to prepare my answers for the same and then learn it by heart so that I could apply it on my prospects when I got that objection.
Let me tell you it was not at all exciting! I didn’t want to do it and I started searching for an option.
And for me ‘Giving Up’ was not an option!
Day in and day out I thought, how do I get rid of the pain of learning these objections and at the same time becoming successful in my profession?
And then it suddenly hit me...
I, asking this one question had set my subconscious mind working overnight to come up with the answer I was looking for. Soon I found that the way I was communicating with my prospects changed. The language I started using was very different than the language that I used to use in my early days of sales.
What did I do different?
I started adding value to the way I talked about my product. Instead of selling I started sharing what I had.
I realized that ‘facts tell, but it is always the stories that sell.’
I too started telling stories about a better future that was in store for them and in doing so I took them to their future where they could for themselves see the life they wanted to enjoy.
I developed myself to become a Dream Merchant!
Today my clients no longer give me objections, instead they give me cheques.
It is not that I have achieved 100% success. People still reject me but the percentage has drastically gone down.
Today the only people who reject me are the ones who never were my prospects.
This is another powerful lesson I learned the hard way: Not all living beings walking on two legs is your prospect!
What I did will not make your sales sky rocket over night. It is a process that will take its due course. But what is important that you start doing it starting now. And when you take stock of your success every month you will find that you are on the right path.
To summarize,
Learn to add Value to your prospects. Ask yourself, ‘What more can I do to add value to my prospect’s life in addition to offering him my product?’
The answers are already in your mind, what you need is to ask the right questions again and again.
Give this a thought: The only way you can make your prospects life better is to first visualize his best in your mind.

How Do I Expand My Network
How big is your network?
Your network is potentially the size of all your contacts, plus all your relatives’ contacts, your friends’ contacts, your business associates contacts and the list goes on.
Suppose you want to invite people to a seminar or want to offer your services then are you going to limit the list to just those names you’ve been able to remember and write down?
The answer is ‘No’ yet most people do it!
The question to ask ourselves is ‘How Do I Expand My Network?’
The most efficient way to expand our network is to trade our network with someone else.
You can ask me for my network contacts, you can ask others for their network contacts. With this trading of networks you will have contacts that can be hundred thousands instead of just few hundred.
But there is a condition when you trade your network with others. Treat their contacts with utmost respect and your actions should be focused towards winning their trust.
Once you win their trust you will win the friendship of other people’s network and this trust and friendship will be for life! Your life and their life!

Become the Hunted instead of Being the Hunter
This is perhaps one of the most successful network marketing strategies that a networker can apply to grow his organization.
There are people in this industry chasing their prospects day in and day out. The more they chase the more their prospects runs away from them. In the process what we do is we give up all our power to the prospects we chase. We entirely depend on him/her for our closing. It’s like giving the remote control of our lives in the hands of the prospect. He keeps on pressing it as per his whims and fancies and we keep dancing to his tunes.
In this scenario it is the prospect who decides whether we will meet him or not. Travelling on this path will never lead us to success.
What should really happen is the prospects come looking for us and we decide whether we want to meet him or not.
For many of you this must be a shocking thought! You must be thinking we need business so it is our duty to run behind prospects, why should they bother to run behind us?
This is the question that you should be asking yourself: Why should my prospects bother to come behind me?
Because you are giving them something that no one else is giving:
The Solutions to their life’s problems.
Instead of telling how great your product is have you ever tried to understand what problems your prospects are facing and then providing them with solutions through your products?
Remember, when the focus is on selling the product you earn a commission and when the focus in on building relationships with your prospects you earn a fortune.
This is the right time to decide what you want.
Your decision will decide whether you will be a networker who is hunting his prospects or a networker whom the prospects hunt.
